If Menus are really important (Alternative Player)įor Windows users that really need the menus, which aren't shown in VLC when using the workaround above. In such a case, I would suggest to rip the DVD with MakeMKV or something else OR -see below- switch to another player. If the menus are invisible, the locations of the buttons are still clickable usually - but might be problematic when it's something like a training dvd with heavily nested menus etc. If it's movie, the menus aren't that important. Open VLC, Click "Open Medium", instead of choosing the mounted ISO's drive or the DVD drive as root, choose the VIDEO_TS folder within as playback drive. Now mount the ISO as drive (Windows can do this natively). Skip this if it's already an ISO of a non UDF-mastered disk or if you can access the "VIDEO_TS" folder on the DVD due to a firmware hack etc. If it's a real DVD: Create an ISO from it (u can user for example 'PowerISO' to do this. Preparations for VLC when u cannot access folders on the DVD A solution that works in many cases (not all though, in some cases some or all menus or invisible, but still the button locations react to clicks):
